A SMALL fire broke out at the Cape Corner Store in Cape Paterson mid-morning today, prompting a swift response from local CFA crews.
CFA member Jamie Moresco said the blaze started when the power meter box caught fire.
“The power meter box caught fire. It burned through the wall and got to some old bird nests and then started burning the timber,” Mr Moresco said.
Crews quickly contained the fire before it could spread further.
“We just put a hose line up into the roof and suppressed the fire,” he said.
The fire was brought under control shortly after, with no injuries reported.
