THE mansion of mayhem came to life last weekend as Wonthaggi Theatrical Group transformed The Union into an Addams family pandemonium filled with spooktacular fun in a performance that was bone-afide brilliant.
“It’s the best show for a long time,” one audience member stated, noting the staging and effects were fantastic.
“There were different twists to another recent production of the Addams Family and we couldn’t recommend it highly enough – we’re waiting to go again!”
And they weren’t wrong.
The hair and make-up, the sets, the music awakened the senses and took on a life of it’s own as cast filled the stage in high energy performances.
“The cast are fantastic,” Carol Cox (props department) stated explaining the reception the first two nights was terrific.
“There is so much talent (both on stage and backstage).”
“It’s great to see all the elements come together,” props manager Sara Skate added.
“There were a lot of hours of painting and getting all the props ready.”
For makeup artist and head of department, Jess Purtle there may have been a lot of white makeup backstage, however, it was nice seeing it all come together on stage.
“Everyone worked together, and it all complemented,” Jess smiled.
“Everyone is enthusiastic and loving the characters and costumes,” head of wigs and hair Kerrin Barker added.
Ghastly props, gothic glamour, spooky vocals and haunting elegance The Addams Family musical is a show not to be missed.
