THE Australian Grand Prix Corporation has announced Phillip Island Community and Learning Centre (PICAL) as the official charity partner for the Animoca Brands Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix 2022.
The well-known Cowes based organisation, PICAL is a longstanding local charity that is focused on building a strong, safe and vibrant Phillip Island community.
PICAL provides a wide range of vital community services and support programs, such as the Phil Dixon Emergency Food Relief program, a community garden, Centrelink services, along with training and education.
It also supports vital community engagement and social-enterprise groups, such as Women Connect and ‘Boomerang Bags’.
This partnership will see PICAL further increase awareness of its community programs, and raise crucial donations at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit across the three days of the event.
PICAL will also receive a range of donations following the event, such as food for its Emergency Food Relief Pantry and coffee grounds to provide fertilizer for its community garden.
The Animoca Brands Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix 2022 will return to Phillip Island from October, Friday 14, to Sunday 16.
Come Sunday’s feature race, more than 1,800 days will have passed since the last Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix in 2019.
In 2022, there’s plenty to be excited about with Aussies Jack Miller and Remy Gardener set to compete on the MotoGP™ grid and Australia will witness the local debut of compatriot Joel Kelso in Moto3".
On top of that, the national Superbike class will return alongside the Oceania Junior Championship — which will mark its first inclusion at the event.
