Rising stars at Nyora Football Netball Club

1 min read

OVER the weekend, for the second year running, Nyora Football Netball Club's under-10s and under-12s teams played finals on their home ground. This year, two of the youngest stars reached personal best milestones.

Little Pocket Rocket, Zara Dike – one of the few girls in the under-10s – played her 50th game. Most of her games have been for Nyora from the start, and she has also occasionally filled in for Halloura Football Club. She’s had the privilege of representing Auskick kids at the MCG, Casey Stadium, and Docklands.

“Zara loves her football,” said Coaches Glen Easton and Wayne Packer, who have both shaped her into the tough little footballer she is. It wouldn’t be possible without her uncle Andrew, who set her on her path.

Chaise Easton also hit a big milestone, achieving 100 games in junior football. He’s played with Nyora and Halloura Football clubs, with Nyora being his home club, where his brothers also play—Blake in the under-10s and Rylie Easton in the under-8s team. Chaise has also played in Interleague, and he’s a little gun with 105 goals and 44 best ons.

“This boy is destined to be a football superstar, with big things ahead, and of course, he couldn’t do it without the support of his mum and dad, who are also the Under-10s Coach and Team Manager, Courtney and Glen Easton,” said Trish Dike of Nyora Football Club.

These two are known as the little rising stars of Nyora Junior Football Club.
