The Marinus Link energy and data interconnector project across Bass Strait has taken another step forward with an official sod-turning ceremony in North-West Tasmania.

The critical Marinus Link energy and data link between Sandy Point and North-West Tasmania remains on track to be fully operational by 2030.

THE MARINUS Link energy and data interconnector project has taken another step forward as government, business, and community leaders gathered for the official sod-turning ceremony in North-West Tasmania.

The development remains firmly on track to be fully operational and in-service by 2030, promising to deliver lower future electricity prices, long-term clean energy careers, and robust climate action for communities spanning North West Tasmania and South Gippsland.

Marinus Link cable and converter technology manufacturing and construction activities will continue to ramp up into next year, beginning at the Heybridge and Hazelwood North converter stations, the Sandy Point shore crossing, Mardan site compound, and locations along the 90km underground cable route in Gippsland.
