Are you a Gippsland farmer looking for love?

1 min read

GIPPSLAND farmers who are looking to fall in love are encouraged to apply for the 2026 series of Channel 7’s, Farmer Wants a Wife.
The reality TV show is in the final stages of locking in the next crop of farmers for their 16th series and are calling out for all single farmers to apply, and to do it soon.
Alternatively, those who may know a hardworking legend of the land looking for love are invited to dob in a farmer, who would make a good contender for the show.
In 2023, 28 year old beef farmer Brenton Kuch from Darriman, appeared on our screens, choosing five girls from eight speed dates to take home, subsequently hitting it off with Sophie Holcombe and Rachel Boothman.
During the show, visits and filming was undertaken in many local locations, one notable one being a visit to the Leongatha Saleyards on a store cattle sale day when Brenton had several pens of his cattle auctioneered off by Brian McCormack of Nutrien Ag Solutions.
While Brenton and Sophie fell in love on their TV journey leading to a fairytale ending on the show; a handful of months after the show ended they unfortunately announced their split.
It was rumoured that Brenton then struck up a romantic relationship with runner – up, Rachel Boothman, but both later claimed they were just friends.
While the Gippsland farmer ultimately didn’t find love on the show, it could be said that Farmer Wants A Wife is still Australia's most successful dating show.
It has resulted in 11 marriages, 9 long-term relationships, and 28 children over 15 seasons in 18 years.
So what are you waiting for? To apply go to https://farmerwantsawife.com.au/ or to dob in a farmer email: farmerwantsawife@eurekaproductions.au.
