Farmers may not be rejoicing just yet but with farm dams across the region at last starting to fill, steady rain across most parts of South Gippsland and the Bass Coast has been more than welcome.
Rainfall totals in most districts have already exceeded the July average.
The highest day of rainfall was 26.4mm on Thursday July 3.
Rhyll recorded 76.8mm compared to a July average of 67.6mm, Wilson’s Promontory 161.8mm compared to an average of 122.5mm, Yarram 59mm compared to a July average of 46.8 mm and Pound Creek 87.8 compared to 95.6mm last year.
