Early morning raids on Mitre 10 Inverloch and Aherns Foster

1 min read

TRADESMEN arrived at Mitre 10 in Inverloch this morning at 7am to pick up their day’s supplies when they found the business had been robbed overnight.

“You can’t come in we’ve been rolled,” was the message they received, unable to enter the store to pick up their orders.

A local tradesman who contacted the Sentinel-Times saying the shop was still investigating the extent of their losses and damage said there was a $1000 Paslode nail gun thrown on the ground outside as the burglars made their escape.

Also at Foster overnight, burglars have again targeted Aherns Fruit Market not only robbing the place but also trashing the store with fridges smashed and “our registers destroyed” as they posted on social media early this morning.

“Police are still assessing the shop,” they advised customers, asking them to bear with them until they can “clean up and get up running again”.

It’s not the first time Aherns have been thrashed and robbed.

The early morning raids could be linked to hits across Gippsland with sites in Yarram targeted alongside Alberton and three premises in Bairnsdale.

Police are looking for three to five males wearing dark clothing and acting suspicious overnight.

Anyone with information, including CCTV and dashcam footage between Inverloch and Bairnsdale, are urged to contact Bass Coast CI on 5671 4100 or Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.

Police are now on the scene at Inverloch Mitre 10.
