Police thank witnesses as two recover in hospital following Port Welshpool collision

1 min read

POLICE have thanked witnesses, and individuals who have shared footage with them from the scene of a collision on Tuesday, September 9.

Two Air Ambulances were called to Port Welshpool on Tuesday at 8.40am after two vehicles collided at the intersection of Port Welshpool Road and Smith Street.

Although investigations are ongoing its alleged a driver of a white Toyota Hilux entered the intersection and appears to have failed to give way to an oncoming grey Nissan Navara that was travelling in a southbound direction.

The Nissan rolled following the collision and narrowly escaped colliding with a power pole at the intersection.

The driver of the Nissan and the passenger of the Toyota were airlifted to Melbourne with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Local CFA attended and assisted with the extraction of individuals, alongside Ambulance Victoria paramedics and Bass Coast Highway Patrol.
