ONE of Gippsland’s significant employers, Saputo Dairy Australia which has processing plants in Leongatha and Maffra, is now proudly distributing its products locally with Redi Milk Australia.
Redi Milk is one of the largest distributors of dairy and food service products in Victoria, with its main depot operation located in Hallam.
Redi Milk maintains a modern fleet of refrigerated trucks and has expanded into South Gippsland with the retirement of close associate, Terry Stephens of Bridge Dairy in Leongatha.
Terry has been actively involved in the dairy industry for more than 47 years and welcomed Redi Milk to South Gippsland.
Like Bridge Dairy, Redi Milk is a family-owned business and has been operating for over 30 years. They are well known in the industry and very much respected for their professional operation and fleet presentation.
Co-incidentally, the owner of Redi Milk Gary Beardsley, is a past resident of Leongatha and contributed actively at the time within the community.
He is a past president of the Leongatha Lions Club and still enjoys and values a number of friendships in the area.
His sons, Adam and Shannon, were beginning their love of football in the area, with Adam playing in the junior competition with the Meeniyan-Dumbalk Football Club.
The family were regular participants in the Table Tennis competition conducted at the Leongatha Stadium.
Gary has been strong in his gratitude to Terry and his staff for the assistance in the changeover, and in particular of the customer recognition and support for choosing to stock the Saputo branded products.
Amongst the Saputo brand range are some very well known names such as Devondale, Sungold and FM flavoured milks.
One could go on with including their cheeses, butters and wide array of UHT products.
Further, Redi Milk stocks a wide array of food service products including cold pressed juices and kombucha, eggs, coffee cups, smallgoods and an enormous range of ‘plant based’ alternative milk products keenly sought by today’s coffee baristas.
Not only is Saputo a significant contributor to the Gippsland farming community, but is already becoming well appreciated for the generous support being provided to sporting groups across Gippsland such as – Leongatha Netball Courts, Meeniyan Dumbalk United Football Club Recreational Reserve, Phillip Island Football Netball Club, Maffra Oval Development have all been recipients of their generous assistance.
Brett Moore is one local who has joined the Redi Milk Team from Bridge Dairy.
Brett (or better known as Moorey) is a well-known Leongatha resident, having been a fairly keen cricketer and footballer in his younger days and now with his family growing into sport in the area.
Brett is a keen Richmond supporter and keeps another eye out for his NRL favourite - Storm.
Be sure to keep an eye out for all of Saputo’s products now hitting the shelves throughout the region.
