THE Chandler Swim Centre is once again the destination for the four South Gippsland Bass swimmers selected in the Schools Sport Victorian team.
They are competing in Brisbane this week at the Schools Sport Australia Championships.
Claudia Croatto and Levi Jarrett join returning swimmers Miah Roberts and Archie Smyth in the Victorian state team, set to take on the other state teams at the annual event.
The team is looking forward to competing in a range of individual events, as well as competing in state team relays.
They will be joined by swimmers from four other Gippsland clubs.
Miah Roberts is returning for the second year in a row.
“I’m really looking forward to having my friends with me and being able to swim the relays together representing the state. I’m really proud to be representing the schools of Victoria in the competition,” she said.
Archie Smyth has competed in the primary school section for a number of years, but this is his first year in the secondary section.
“I’m really looking forward to the 50 metre and 100 metre backstroke. They are my favourites. It will be good to see how I go against the others, especially as next year a lot of us can go to the Age
National Championships, so it will be a good chance to see who my competition will be,” he said.
