Joyride Rookie Cup Round 3 – Strong showing from Bass Coast MTB

BASS Coast riders made their presence felt at the final Round of the Joyride Rookie Cup in Eildon on the weekend, delivering a series of confident performances across four junior categories. The Phillip Island contingent handled the fast and technical course with maturity, collecting multiple top 10 finishes.

U11 Men
Two of our youngest local riders produced standout efforts.
• Kody Sheers continued his impressive season, securing 2nd place in 2:58.76. The result also places him 2nd overall in the series, confirming his position among the leading riders in his age group.
• Will Walker put together a composed and consistent run to finish 7th, recording a time of 3:14.60.

U13 Men
Three Bass Coast MTB riders contested the large and competitive U13 field.
• Flynn Wright placed 42nd with a steady run of 3:08.33.
• Eli Rogan followed in 47th, stopping the clock at 3:18.87.
• Judd Foster finished 53rd with a time of 4:29.08, gaining valuable experience in his first downhill race.

U15 Men
The U15 category saw a strong Phillip Island representation, with six riders on course.
• Maxen Mills led the Bass Coast group, finishing 7th in 2:23.17, showing his usual control and confidence and securing an impressive 4th overall in the series. 
• Miller Micallef claimed an ultra-competitive 14th, posting 2:28.84.
• Ry Sheers followed closely in 16th, recording 2:29.05.
• Hugo Wright delivered a solid effort for 32nd, finishing in 2:39.53.
• Zac Basterfield placed 56th with a time of 2:54.52, continuing to build confidence through the season.
• Bodhi Cooper was unable to complete his run after a crash and recorded a DNF.

U17 Men
 Two Bass Coast MTB riders also took to the hill in the highly competitive U17 division.
• Hamish Dakers-Hock finished 36th with a time of 2:29.59.
• Zac Sund posted 45th, crossing the line in 2:33.91.
