LOCAL team, “Hooked on Gatha” comprising Anne and Rein Hermens (Hooked on Rock) from Traralgon and John and Jenny Kerville (J & J Gatha Rock) from Leongatha competed in the National Rock N Roll Championship in Maroochydore last week and came first in the “Awesome 4s” title.
They competed against competitors from Queensland, Western Australia, South Australia and New South Wales.
The routine for the competition is set to a specific song and each team choregraphed their own routine to the music.
Not only has this team won the Nationals but they also won the regional title in Sale in February and the State title in Melbourne in May this year.
Anne and Rein hold classes at VRI Hall, Traralgon on a Monday night during school terms and John and Jenny hold classes at the Dakers Centre, Leongatha on a Thursday night during school terms.
