The annual Coronet Bay Fun Run and Walk officially returns over the Melbourne Cup long weekend with two courses starting and finishing at the Coronet Bay Community Hall on Sunday, November 1.
THE 28th Annual Coronet Bay Fun Run and Walk officially returns to the Bass Coast over the Melbourne Cup long weekend at the Coronet Bay Community Hall in the Fred Gration Reserve on Sunday, November 1.
Each year this popular community event brings together fitness enthusiasts and families from across the Waterline to support local community groups and raise money for vital pancreatic cancer research.
Participants can choose between two newly designed routes utilising local streets and the Coronet Bay foreshore. For families, prams, and casual walkers a 3km street course offers a relatively flat, welcoming route.
Seasoned athletes looking for a challenge may wish to tackle the new 5km cross-country course which features a brand-new layout with demanding elevation changes stretching out toward O'Conner Road.
Competitors will have plenty to compete for with medallions being awarded to the top three finishers across six distinct age and gender categories
The 3km street course is open to Under 14 Female, Under 14 Male, and Open Female and Open Male entrants. This flat route is considered perfect to run, walk, or pram.
The more challenging 5km cross-country course winding through the township and foreshore is only recommended for well-prepared runners and is restricted to Open Female and Open Male categories.
After crossing the finish line, families are encouraged to unwind at the picturesque Coronet Bay foreshore and enjoy the local beach.
To keep the event eco-friendly, everyone is encouraged to bring BYO water bottles with refill stations available at the Coronet Bay Community Hall and along the two routes.
Volunteers are urgently needed to ensure the day runs smoothly.
Whether you want to chase a new personal best, or support runners from the sidelines you can register your entry, or sign up as a volunteer at the Trybooking event site at trybooking.com/events/landing/1652740
