Tragedy on our roads as 3-car Leongatha crash claims a life
Police are investigating the death of a woman after three cars collided just outside Leongatha today, Wednesday afternoon, September 23.
POLICE are investigating the death of a woman after three cars collided just outside Leongatha on Wednesday afternoon, September 23.
According to details provide by police, it is understood a female driver travelling south on the Strzelecki Highway side-swiped a second vehicle travelling north before colliding head-on with a third vehicle about 1.15pm.
The female driver died at the scene.
The female driver of the second vehicle and male driver of the third vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported by road ambulance to hospital.
The Strzelecki Highway is currently blocked (updated at 3pm) and vehicles are being diverted.
The scene will remain closed for some time.
Bass Coast Highway Patrol officers are investigating the collision.
It brings to 182 as the number of lives lost on Victorian roads this year as compared to 217 lives lost on our roads this time last year
