PHILLIP Island might have its round of the World Championship Moto GP in October this year, but Leongatha has got ‘Biketober Fest’!
The Leongatha Business Association (LBA) is in the process of organising a new event which they hope will develop into something significant for the town.
They’ve got plans for live music, an historic motorcycle expo, food trucks, merchandise stalls and motorbikes, lots of motorbikes.
Former LBA President Anthony Walls said the committee was working up plans for the event on Saturday, October 29.
“We’re hoping to attract 3000 to 3500 motorbike riders. We’ve scheduled it a few weeks after the Phillip Island GP, to give them some clear air, but hopefully some of the visitors to the region will come back again and have a nice weekend riding around the area,” said Mr Walls.
The LBA is meeting this week to add the final touches to arrangements but they’re confident it will develop into a major event.

Well-known as a favourite amongst riders, the fast-flowing Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit will once again set the stage for a fantastic weekend of action from October 14-16, 2022.
A highlight on Australia’s sporting calendar, the event is shaping up to be another unmissable experience with two Aussies set to compete in the premier class.
