1 min read

BASS Coast housing advocacy group Housing Matters, Rotary Club of Wonthaggi and Wonthaggi Neighbourhood House are hosting a free barbecue as part of Homelessness Awareness Week on Sunday August 10 at Apex Park in Wonthaggi with speakers at midday.

Housing Matters Bass Coast exists to advocate for more secure and affordable housing in Bass Coast including more emergency places and innovative new housing designs.

According to Housing Matters the reality of homelessness in Gippsland is confronting with families and young children sleeping in cars or living in unsafe conditions.

“Everyone deserves a safe place to call home,” said Jessica Harrison of Housing Matters.

“Let’s use this week to not just raise awareness but to push for real solutions.”
