1 min read

THREE hundred people gathered at Inverloch to mark Remembrance Day despite drenching overnight rain and challenging weather conditions.

Moving the service indoors to the Inverloch Community Hub accomplished trumpeter and cornet player Noah Robertson sounded The Last Post and Reveille.

Master of Ceremonies was Rod Gallagher with Vice-President Bob Sutton delivering the keynote address and laying a wreath on behalf of the Inverloch RSL sub branch.

Inverloch RSL Chaplain Rev Amy Turner conducted the service and led the Lord's Prayer.

Many beautiful wreaths were laid by local service clubs and members of the public.

Special guests included the Federal Member for Monash Mary Aldred MP, State Member for Bass Jordan Crugnale MP, and Cr Brett Tessari from Bass Coast Shire.

Inverloch RSL President Ross Gabb thanked everyone for attending including students from Inverloch Primary School who provided a moving reading of In Flanders Field.

Almost 100 retired afterwards to the clubrooms of the Inverloch RSL to join members for refreshments.
