THE Bureau of Meteorology has issued a Severe Weather Warning for Bass Coast and South Gippsland.
With damaging winds of more than 110km/h developing.
The message advised to be aware of potential hazards caused by severe weather, including debris, damaged roads and fallen trees.
Check that loose items, such as outdoor furniture, umbrellas and trampolines are safely secured. Move vehicles under cover or away from trees.
Stay inside if conditions outside appear dangerous.
Contact family members and neighbours to ensure they are aware of the situation, if safe to do so.
Charge personal devices to prepare for any possible power outages.

Due to the weather warning, Bass Coast Shire Council services will close early (from 2:00pm today)
The following services will close early:
- All Waste Transfer Stations
- Newhaven Visitor Information Centre
- Wonthaggi Civic Centre Customer Service
School Crossing Supervisors will not be on duty this afternoon. All schools have been notified and are making alternative arrangements.
Cinema Cancellations
All cinema screenings at Berninneit and The Union Theatre have been cancelled for today.
