Air ambulance lands in Wonthaggi to collect alleged stabbing victim shortly before 9pm on FRiday night, October 10.

THE Sentinel-Times has contacted Police Media after reports on the community-based Latrobe Valley Incidents & Crime Activity & Locations social media page reported a "stabbing incident" in Wonthaggi at 8.20pm.

The Sentinel-Times contacted local police and Police Media who have issued the following statement:

"Police are investigating after a man presented at a hospital in Wonthaggi with a non-life-threatening stab wound just before 8pm on Friday night October 10.

Police are yet to establish how the man received his injuries and the investigation remains ongoing.
