KILCUNDA’S new skate park and playspace has been delayed due to wet weather.

According to Bass Coast Shire, the site is waterlogged.

Items to be completed include landscaping, shelter installation, bike racks, safety rails, bridge to the playspace and paving.

Works are anticipated to be completed prior to September, weather dependent.

The Sentinel-Times visited the site last week and managed to get a glimpse of skaters making the most of the new bowl, which was completed recently.

One of the skaters, who travelled from Fitzroy with his son, said it was a great addition for Kilcunda and added to its appeal.

He noted that Grind Projects Pty Ltd were one of the best when it came to creating skate parks.

Overall the skate park features a bowl and roll in for beginners, a deep end for more advanced skaters, slappy kerb, water fall and pier seven ledge.

The playspace will include timber and rock features, along with traditional play elements for climbing, sliding and swinging.
