UPDATE: TWO youth were located a short time later and have been arrested in relation to the fire.
Police are questioning the alleged offenders and are not currently looking for anyone else in relation to the offence.
BIG W has been evacuated this afternoon after a small fire broke out in the store.
Its understood the fire was small in nature in the kids clothing section and was extinguished through the use of handheld fire extinguishers.
Incident Controller from Wonthaggi Fire Brigade Jamie Moresco credited the quick actions of the Big W team in suppressing the fire with fire extinguishers on scene, before local fire brigades from Wonthaggi, Inverloch and Dalyston arrived with firefighters ensuring the scene was safe, utilising further fire extinguishers.
The incident is being treated as suspicious.
Members of the public who were shopping at the time were safely evacuated from the store.
