STATE Emergency Services, Bass Coast Shire and South Gippsland Shire have released updated flood warnings this morning, with Flood Advice issued for the Tarwin River.
Tarwin River
Flooding has occurred along the Tarwin River and tributaries with the river peaking at 6.7 metres at Meeniyan overnight; flood levels are similar to those experienced in June 2012.
Residents should stay informed, monitor local conditions and remain alert.
Be prepared to act if your situation changes, and never enter floodwater – floodwater is dangerous.
Stay informed by listening to emergency broadcasters and monitoring warnings.
Check the VicTraffic website (traffic.vicroads.vic.gov.au) for road closures and follow instructions from emergency services.

Bass Coast Shire
Bass Coast Shire have released an updated list of roads still affected by flooding this morning, including some which remain closed.
Road Closed:
- Pinkerton Road, Wonthaggi
- Heslop Road, Wonthaggi
- McCraws Road, Wattlebank
- Loch-Wonthaggi Road
- Mouth of Powlett Road (diversion through Desal Plant is in place)
Water over road and signage out:
- West Creek Road
- Rhyll-Newhaven Road between McFee’s Road and Harbison Road
- Wilson Road, Cape Paterson
- Scott’s Estate Road, Kongwak
Flooding is still impacting the outbound lanes of the South Gippsland Highway, with these closed and diversion via Caldermeade Road still in place.
South Gippsland Shire
South Gippsland Shire have advised that the following roads have been closed due to water over the road:
- Armstrongs Road, Meeniyan – between property numbers #99 and #150
- Beilbys Road, Nerrena – 500m in from the South Gippsland Highway
- Carmodys Road, Leongatha – 1km in from the South Gippsland Highway
- Mardan Road, Koorooman from the Strzelecki Highway to Lawsons Road
- Stewart and Dunlops Road, Middle Tarwin from Brights Road to Breens Road
- Sanders Road, Ranceby from Korumburra-Warragul Road
