Held to two points at half-time, Cora Lynn never got near Phillip Island
A 53-point win gave Phillip Island their only premiership of the day, their seniors going down by 14 points later in the afternoon
PHILLIP ISLAND HELD Cora Lynn to two points for a half and did not let them into it after, winning the West Gippsland reserves premiership 10.10 (70) to 2.5 (17) at Garfield on Saturday.
The Bulldogs kicked 2.3 in the opening quarter to a single behind and had it beyond doubt by the main break, 34 to 2.
Cora Lynn did not manage a goal until the third quarter, by which time they were 35 points down.

The 53-point win was the biggest margin of any West Gippsland football grand final on the day.
Travis Woodfield, Nick Anderson, Will Taylor-Eagles and Max Taylor kicked two each, with Jackson Huther and Noah Forrest Mabilia adding one.
Benji Chihotski was named best on ground, ahead of Zak Vernon, Taylor-Eagles, Jack Opitz, ChaCha Fischer and Forrest Mabilia.

Coach Brad Thompson had a word for the beaten Cobras first.
"Just like to thank the Cora Lynn boys. It was an awesome effort to get here today," Thompson said.
"A lot of hard work went in, and that was an awesome effort. Well done guys."
Captain Bryce Pewtress lifted the cup with him.
Phillip Island finished on top of the ladder at 16-2 with a percentage of 285, then belted Garfield 8.10 (58) to 1.2 (8) in the second semi-final to go straight through.

Cora Lynn came from third, beating Koo Wee Rup by 36 points in the elimination final, Nar Nar Goon by five in the semi and Garfield by eight in the preliminary final.
The sides had split their home and away meetings, Cora Lynn winning by 12 points in round 10 and Phillip Island by 36 in round 18.
It was the only premiership Phillip Island won on the day, their seniors going down to Nar Nar Goon by 14 points later in the afternoon.
