IT IS well recognized that the Bass Coast area has become an increasingly popular destination for retirees as well as families escaping from the pressures of Melbourne for all the obvious reasons. A number of professionals in the education and health sectors have also settled here in recent times.
It stands to reason that some of these would be men who are Freemasons who have become separated from the organisation and may not be aware of the presence of several lodges operating in the area.
There are two Craft Lodges in Wonthaggi namely the Powlett Lodge and the Woolamai Daylight Lodge. Other degrees worked are Mark, Chapter and Royal and Select.
The Phillip Island Lodge also meets in Cowes.
Further afield there are two lodges which meet in Korumburra and another in Mirboo North.
These lodges are naturally keen to either have new candidates for Freemasonry as well as to welcome joining members.
For further information please contact the acting secretary of the Woolamai Daylight Lodge, Peter Thick on 0429 851 004.
