Remembering our ANZACs

1 min read

On Thursday April 25 communities across Gippsland South, along with the rest of Australia, will gather to remember those who have served and those who continue to serve our country as well as celebrate the ANZAC spirit that lives on within our communities today because of the sacrifices made by those who came before us.

ANZAC Day as it is celebrated today goes beyond the anniversary of the landing on Gallipoli in 1915. It is a day we remember and acknowledge the efforts of those who served, and many who continue to serve, in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations.

We also remember and pay our respects to the families of these heroes.

I will be attending ANZAC Day services across the community, and I invite you join with me in commemorating those who paid the ultimate sacrifice so that we can enjoy the freedoms that we do today.

Danny O’Brien, Member for Gippsland South
