WITH the closure of the boardwalk for some six weeks or more, there is a serious risk of injury to pedestrians walking The Esplanade, especially the Sunderland Bay end, as there is no nature strip or footpath to walk on.
There is a deep gutter one side and thick scrub the other.
As cars often speed around the corner there is little warning for pedestrians.
Tradies, surfers and others in a hurry are a major risk, despite the 20km/h slow speed warning.
There needs some partition between cars and walkers, families and others on foot.
I emailed Nature Parks and they declined responsibility.
I rang Bass Shire Council and they were to get back to me, a week ago.
Hopefully, some action is taken to prevent trauma to someone.
