LOCAL musicians will fill the grounds of Coal Creek Community Park and Museum in Korumburra with live music across two Sunday afternoons in November.

The Sunday Sessions run from 1.30pm to 6pm on Sunday November 15 and Sunday November 29, with the park’s grounds and lake as the backdrop for a relaxed, family-friendly afternoon of soloists, duos and groups.

The first session showcases up-and-coming musicians aged 25 and under, with Leah Mark, Xander Beach, Aimee Le Page, Olive and the Peanuts and Ozone Street on the bill.

Marty and Mel, Tom Chalko, The Pegs, Meg Doherty and No Promises take the stage for the second session on November 29.

South Gippsland Shire Mayor Cr Nathan Hersey said the sessions would bring locals and visitors together to enjoy homegrown talent at Coal Creek.

“Live music is a great way to bring people together, and these events are a fantastic way to enjoy some great local talent in the unique setting of Coal Creek,” Cr Hersey said.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming locals and visitors to South Gippsland to enjoy the music, soak up the atmosphere and make a day of it.”

The sessions are funded by a grant from the State Government’s 10,000 Gigs Fund.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $5 for children and $45 for a family of two adults and two children, with children under five free.

Visitors can bring a picnic or buy food and drinks on site, including from a fully licensed bar, though BYO alcohol is not allowed.

Dogs are welcome on a leash.

Tickets can be booked at www.southgippsland.vic.gov.au/Sunday-Sessions.
