THE Phillip Island and District Railway Modellers will once again hold their annual model train show at the Phillip Island Senior Citizens Club - Lions Court Cowes on Saturday, January 20 and Sunday, January 21.
The exhibition will be open to the public from 10am until 5pm on Saturday, and Sunday from 10am to 4pm.
This show always attracts many visitors, and caters for the diehard model railway enthusiast, the budding five-year-old who loves to watch the trains go around and everyone in between.
There will be thirteen model layouts to view ranging from a vintage 1950’s trainset to a full digital control models complete with authentic sound. We will have models ranging in size from the smaller “N” scale, that fit in a cupboard, up to “O” scale, that you would need a large shed to accommodate.
This year the show features six new model layouts - never seen before - including a completely new model where we invite the young enthusiast to drive the trains, as well as a new exciting large, detailed layout depicting an early 20th century Timber mill and township.
The Phillip Island and District Railway Modellers are also pleased to welcome back the very popular “Circus Train” display.
The volunteer group are grateful for their sponsorship from Bass Coast Shire and Westernport Water as well as the support from Branch Line Hobbies in Croydon and Steam Era Models.
Come and enjoy an hour or two, rain hail or shine in airconditioned comfort. Please talk to the exhibitors, they just love talking about model trains and there is a wealth of experience and expertise to call upon.
The exhibition will be located at 6 Lions Court, Cowes inside the Phillip Island Senior Citizens Club Hall.
