THE Bass Coast Community Foundation’s 20 Years of Giving celebration at Cape Paterson Surf Lifesaving club on Friday, November 18, was a huge success.
One hundred local supporters raised over $11,000 through ticket sales, silent auction bids, and donations, which the Foundation will now use to support community programs in Bass Coast in 2023.
The Foundation’s Executive Officer Sarah Bourke said the Foundation was absolutely overwhelmed with the support shown by local people for the event and the Foundation’s work.
“We are delighted and deeply appreciative that so many friends and supporters of the Foundation were able to share this milestone with us, along with acknowledging the many local businesses who donated to our Silent Auction,” she said.
Current Foundation Chair, Phil Friedlos launched a new video highlighting the Foundation’s work in the community and the Foundation’s current focus on reducing the incidence and risk of homelessness and housing stress, increasing aspirations of young people, and providing opportunities for local women and girls.
The Foundation was founded in 2002 as a community owned, independent, and non-for-profit organisation, to provide a vehicle for sustainable long-term funding for community driven initiatives, and to make our local communities stronger, more resilient, and healthy.
