CALLING all artists and photographers! The Rotary Club of Leongatha is proud to announce that online entries for the 2026 Leongatha Art and Photography Show are now open, closing at 6am on Friday, December 5, 2025.

Now celebrating over 49 illustrious years, the Leongatha Art and Photography Show has become a cornerstone of artistic expression in the Gippsland region. What began as a small community event has evolved into a 21-day summer showcase of creativity, attracting more than 700 entries annually from local, Victorian, and interstate artists across sixteen award categories.

The exhibition features a vibrant mix of mediums – from painting and photography to sections dedicated to young artists, All Abilities entrants, and innovative 3D works.

Generously supported by long-standing sponsors, the 2026 show will award over $8900 in prizes and awards, continuing a proud tradition of celebrating and supporting artistic excellence.

Drawing thousands of visitors each year, the Show has become a highlight of South Gippsland’s summer calendar. In 2025, one in five attendees travelled from Melbourne, with visitors also arriving from across Australia, Tasmania, and abroad. The extended three-week format in January and February not only enhances the visitor experience but also boosts art sales, giving patrons the chance to purchase original works and support local artists.

The event is hosted in the historic Leongatha Memorial Hall, located on the corner of McCartin Street and Michael Place. Just 130 kilometres southeast of Melbourne, the venue is ideally positioned to welcome art lovers from Bass Coast, Latrobe Valley, and East, West, and South Gippsland.

Beyond showcasing creativity, the event supports a noble cause. Proceeds from art sales commissions, entry fees, and raffles directly fund the Rotary Club of Leongatha’s local, national, and international humanitarian projects. As part of Rotary International and the Rotary Foundation, the club remains committed to fostering positive change and community development.

For artists and art enthusiasts alike, the 2026 Leongatha Art and Photography Show offers an unmissable celebration of talent, creativity, and community spirit.
