THE Sentinel-Times comment piece titled ‘More new candidates needed for South Gippsland’, on page 18 in the June 22 edition, incorrectly reported Local Government Candidate Training for South Gippsland Shire Council would be conducted by the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC).
Compulsory candidate training is conducted by Local Government Victoria. Prospective candidates should visit the Local Government Victorian website to find out more and to register for candidate training at localgovernment.vic.gov.au/council-governance/candidate-training.
