Dear voters of Tarwin Valley Ward,
I am standing in the current council elections for South Gippsland and hope you are aware of this and know that ballots must be posted by Friday, October 22, 2021.
I am a resident of Mirboo North and, along with my wife, made South Gippsland our retirement location 11 years ago; we have not regretted the decision.
I have been wanting to do something in our community and feel that serving on council is a very appropriate one for me. This is especially true in this election with the return of elected councillors.
I am standing as I believe I can make a valuable contribution to the lives of our residents and will represent all citizens regardless of their own political or social views.
I have had experience in many aspects of life that councils operate in and know the complexity of the role will be suited to my skill set.
I am hoping you will read the candidate statements before you cast your vote. I am also hoping you are aware that I have not criticised any other candidate through any statements I have made - one of my strengths is my ability to get on with people and to work cooperatively and reach consensus decisions.
I play the ball not the person and feel this is essential to successfully returning South Gippsland to effective self-government. I am committed to working for our collective long-term futures and planning on how to get there and hope I can get your vote. Thank you.
