Leongatha open for COVID test bookings for Thursday

BOTH the Wonthaggi and Leongatha drive-through COVID-19 testing centres are open on Monday, January 3.

But, due to the high demand for testing, Leongatha was already booked out before the day even arrived.

The Wonthaggi drive-through at the old McBride Avenue Campus opened early but, after the overwhelming demand on Sunday, it was heavily in demand again on Monday.

CEO of the Gippsland Southern Health Service, Mark Johnston, said the Leongatha Hospital site would be open for those who already have bookings but was not able to accommodate any further bookings.

“We regret to say that we are already fully booked tomorrow (Monday) and would recommend those looking to get tested visit the Health Department website at https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/where-get-tested-covid-19

It has just been announced that the drive-through at Leongatha will open its drive-through swabbing clinic again on Thursday, January 6 at the Leongatha hospital from 9am to 3pm but it is strictly on a pre-booked basis by calling 5654 2777.
