THE Arawata Pet Day is on this coming Sunday, March 20.
Gates open midday at the old Arawata Schoolgrounds on Fairbank Road, Arawata.
The inaugural event in March 2020 saw more than 100 people attend from as far away as Drouin and Inverloch.
This year, Suzie Cowling, owner of Dogtopia, will be showcasing canine sports at 12.30pm. Judging starts at 1.30pm and there are 10 fun classes. Each class has a winner’s sash and prize, plus place ribbons for second and third.
The 10 class winners will then compete for the honour of Best on Parade and runner-up Best on Parade.
The judge is Dr Jonathan Speelman of Arawata.
Lunch and cold drinks will be available for purchase. There will also be lucky gate prizes; free tickets on entry.
Maurice, the wire-haired JRT, is already planning his costume for best dressed!
RSVP to arawatahall@gmail.com with the classes you wish to enter (free entry, limited to three classes per pet) or message the facebook.com/acha3951 page.
Organisers would like to thank the event’s sponsors, including Dogtopia, Glorious Googies, Divas Indian Restaurant, The Middle Pub Korumburra and the Sentinel-Times.
