BOM posts 'severe' weather warning: Take it easy on the roads

THE Bureau of Meteorology has posted a 'Severe Thunderstorm Warning' for damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfdall across a wide part of Victoria including Bass Coast and South Gippsland

The warning was issued at 4.37pm on Sunday, August 25 for people in Central, Northern Country, North Central and parts of South West, North East, Wimmera, Mallee and West and South Gippsland Forecast Districts.

The front has already arrived in Bass Coast and parts of South Gippsland with wild winds, heavy rain, thunder and lightning

Emergency Victoria has echoed a warning in recent minutes that the Leongatha SES Unit put out six hours ago foreshadowing the dramatic change in the weather this morning while skies were blue and conditions warm and benign.
