Volunteers Ted, Richard, Glenda, Pete, Mary (front), Jessica, Stella, Jenny, and Chris gather at the community garden in preparation for the FREE November spring shop.

VOLUNTEERS of the Wonthaggi community garden are hosting a ‘Spring Free Shop’ on Sunday, November 12 to help support the community during the hard financial times.

Now run in conjunction with the Men’s Shed, organiser Jessica Harrison welcomes everyone in the community to either donate or come and look around the harvest centre spring garden.

“One person’s trash is another person’s treasure and in the current times it’s fun to find something almost new, or even clean out your unwanted goods,” said Jessica.

The harvest centre community garden is located behind Mitchell House at 6 Murray Street, Wonthaggi (across the rail trail).
Bring along your bric-a-brac, clear out the wardrobe – because pre-loved clothing is always a treat, or even donate some cuttings, seeds and seedlings and pick yourself up something new.

“We kindly ask no furniture or electrical goods; however, kitchenware, books, toys and DVDs are welcome.” So, drop in from 9:30am until 12pm on Sunday, November 12. “Everything is free!”
