TWO separate events overnight kept CFA and other emergency service volunteers busy in the district with the first a fully alight house fire in Loch followed by a car rollover on the Bass Highway.
House was 'fully alight' at Nyora
The first event of the evening was around 7.44pm on January 18 as six CFA units from Loch, Lang Lang and Poowong responded to a house fire at Hewson Street in Nyora.
Crews arrived on scene to the house fully alight with no occupants inside the house at the time.
Utilising breathing apparatus on scene crews worked to contain the fire to approximately 40 per cent of the structure with the fire deemed under control around 8.03pm and safe at 8.34pm.
'Drive to the conditions' say road rescuers
In a fearful collision last night (January 18), a silver Holden Astra travelling in an eastern direction on the Bass Highway towards Kilcunda (approximately 1.5 kilometres from the town limits) has slid off the road, collided with a large tourism sign, and continued down the embankment eventually coming to a stop in roadside scrub.

Three CFA units responded to the accident from Kilcunda and Bass, as well as members from Corinella Fire Brigade, alongside Victoria Police, the SES and Ambulance Victoria at 10.37pm.
Despite rolling multiple times, the driver was able to self extricate with paramedics treating the individual at the scene.
In light of the collision, local CFA volunteers have urged drivers to drive to the conditions not just to the speed limit, as wet weather is impacting the surfaces of the road making them more slippery.
Debris from the resultant crash covers the area.
