Holiday fuel in good supply at Inverloch and Phillip Island

POPULAR refuelling spot for South Gippsland and Bass Coast drivers, BP Officer Inbound and Outbound on the Monash Freeway, were both running very low on diesel on Wednesday afternoon, April 1.
A spokesman for the two service stations said that if they don’t get a delivery of diesel soon, they could run out within the hour.
But that’s not the case in either Bass Coast or South Gippsland where fuel sellers say they expect to have plenty of suppliers for locals and those travelling down for what is expected to be a busy Easter.
You might not like the price of diesel at 329.9 cents-a-litre and unleaded at 256.9 cents-a-litre on Thursday at the Inverloch BP, but they have assured motorists that they will have enough to get them through the Easter and home afterwards.
At Cowes BP, they’ve got plenty of unleaded petrol but are relying on daily deliveries of diesel to keep stocks up.
“We’ve been getting a daily delivery up until now, and I’d say we’ll be right through the Easter, but it does depend on those daily deliveries.
“If it’s petrol, no problem, but I think we should be right for diesel as well if you’re coming down,” said a spokesperson for Cowes BP.
But there are areas across the state that aren’t quite as well supplied.
According to the ‘Fuel Radar’ website at https://fuelradar.com.au/ 134 petrol stations around Victoria are out of one type of fuel or another, but it’s mostly diesel that’s causing the concern.
It certainly pays to check where fuel is available if you’re looking to travel over the Easter with fuel availability already impacting accommodation, hospitality venues and events.

No guarantee Wonthaggi Shell will reopen
Meanwhile, insurance agents and engineers are still assessing whether or not the Shell Service Station can be reopened safely after criminals crashed a tray truck into the side of the brick building on Sunday morning, March 29 during a ramraid robbery.
Local builders have made repairs to the building and have covered the broken windows with timber in the hope that the petrol station will be given the all clear to recommence trading on Thursday, April 2 ahead of the Easter weekend.
