1 min read

NEW York Times bestselling author, Sally Hepworth, was at Meeniyan Town Hall on November 7, where she drew in a crowd of 170 people from Phillip Island to Melbourne to Metung – making it a sold-out event – the first in Nice Stack of Books history.

Sally's biggest fan was the lead interviewer, her Aunty Rose Keaney, who was an absolute treat and a one-off occurrence.

Sally spoke about her writing process, having her books adapted to screen - The Family Next Door is now showing on ABC - the highest recorded commissioned drama in ABC iview's history - and divulged some secret information about more adaptations in the works, including a second season of The Family Next Door.

Sally discussed her newest novel, Mad Mabel, her inspiration and research into child killers and how she turned this into a story about friendship.

Emma Trotman of Nice Stack of Books said readers had their photos taken and books signed.

“The supper following the event was provided by my own Aunty Nettie and family, and Brent Sinclair Catering. Aunty Jo and friends served up hot drinks,” said Emma. “It was a true family affair.”

Nice Stack of Books final author event for 2025 is Saturday, November 29, featuring authors Kate Mildenhall and Toni Jordan. Tickets are available now at nicestackofbooks.myshopify.com
