Nyora’s Keefer Wilson will kick off his Olympics in the prelims of men’s skateboarding park on August 7 at 8.30pm, and all going well we will also be able to watch him in the finals at 1.30am August 8.
Off the back of comfortably clearing 1.95m on Friday night (our time), Leongatha’s Eleanor Patterson will star in the women’s high jump finals being held on August 5 at 3.50am. Leongatha’s skeet shooter Aislin Jones will see her second Olympic appearance with qualification day one tonight (August 3) at 5pm, with qualification day two starting August 4 at 5.30pm ahead of the skeet women’s final at 11.30pm.
Aislin will take to the stage in a second event on August 5 at 5pm for the skeet mixed team qualification, with finals starting at 11pm.
Former Phillip Island and Leongatha premiership coach Beau Vernon will take to the floor for mixed wheelchair rugby in the Paralympics against Great Britain on August 29 at 7.30pm before taking on France on August 31 at 3.30 am and Denmark at 9.30pm. The mixed wheelchair rugby finals will then commence on September 1.
Arawata are throwing their support behind David and Robyn’s daughter, Linden Hall. Round 1 of the Women’s 1500m will take place on August 6 at 6.05pm, followed on August 7 at 8.45pm by the Repechage Round. August 9 will see the semi finals take place at 3.35am with finals on August 11 at 4.25am.
