Zero tolerance for anti-social behaviour
THERE is zero tolerance for anti-social behaviour, intoxication in public places and public order offending across South Gippsland and Bass Coast.
The warning comes as police and licensed venue premise employees have borne the brunt of poor behaviour over the holiday period.
“Poor behaviour will not be tolerated,” Senior Sergeant Brad Steer stated.
“We encourage individuals to go out, have fun, but respect others and respect property.”
Two individuals (a male and female) have been banned from licensed premises of late with both subject to additional criminal offences, and that is just two cases.
“Anyone intoxicated in a public place and anyone with open liquor in public will be charged. Likewise, public order and criminal behaviour offending will not be tolerated, and individuals will face charges.
“We are working with licensed premises and sporting clubs to educate people, but after 6-8 weeks of witnessing (and being the focus of) these anti-social behaviours increasing they will no longer be tolerated on any level anywhere across South Gippsland.”
