Fatality along Bass Highway
A MAN has died following a collision in Dalyston on Tuesday, February 28.
Investigators have been told a car and a garbage truck collided head-on along the Bass Highway about 5.45am.
Sadly, the male driver of the car died at the scene.
His female passenger was not injured and taken to hospital for observation.
The truck driver, a 63-year-old man, was not injured and is assisting police with their enquiries.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the collision are continuing.

Rider’s life tragically lost
POLICE will prepare a report for the coroner after a man died following a crash in Wonthaggi on Sunday, March 5.
Emergency services were called to the property off West Area Road about 11am and were told a 20-year-old Queensland man crashed while riding his motorcycle at an organised event.
He was treated at the scene by on site medical teams and then ambulance crews but could not be revived.
Worksafe were notified and will also attend.
Burglary at Mitre 10
POLICE are investigating a burglary yesterday, March 6, at 4.30am at Mitre 10 in Inverloch.
The early morning alarm was investigated by an employee who found the premise had been broken into. It is unknown at this stage if any items were stolen with enquiries ongoing.

Theft of children’s bike outside BP
POLICE are investigating a stolen children’s bike from outside BP Inverloch on Saturday, March 4 around 11am from the nature’s strip.
The children’s bike was positioned alongside an adult’s bike and has training wheels attached.
A middle age woman was seen in CCTV approaching the bike and walking off with it.
