UPDATED: Power is still out to 72 properties in Dalyston, North Wonthaggi and Wonthaggi with an estimated time of restoration updated to 1.30pm.
The unplanned power outage occurred at approximately 7.45am this morning and initially affected residents of Anderson, Bass, Corinella, Coronet Bay, Dalyston, Glen Forbes, Kilcunda, North Wonthaggi, San Remo, Wonthaggi and Woolamai.
"At 7.45 am this morning the Wonthaggi zone substation tripped, which has been attributed to a bird on the line, which caused the fault. Over 21,000 customers were off for 10 mins, with 72 customers currently offline. We anticipate they’ll be back online by this afternoon," a spokesperson for AusNet said.
