Senior dog rescued as crews battle Wonthaggi fire

A SENIOR dog has been rescued as firefighters work to bring a fire in North Wonthaggi under control.

Emergency services were alerted to the fire at 2.22pm on Tuesday, August 11, with police and firefighters attending the scene.

Firefighters were continuing to battle the blaze early on Tuesday afternoon, with the incident still ongoing.

A senior dog was rescued from the fire, however it is not yet known whether anyone was inside the property when the blaze broke out.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.

Police and firefighters remain at the scene as crews work to bring the fire under control.
