South Gippsland Bridge Club celebrate their 37th birthday

A THREE-table turnout again on Monday was just enough to be able to proceed. 

Clive Hope and Neville Chapman led with 60 per cent, Sean Munley and Bruce Higgs 53 per cent, Julie and Ian MacPhee 50 per cent.

Lois Dwyer and Alan Johnston led Tuesday’s play in Wonthaggi with 60.94, Deb Anglin and John French 53.65, Faye Rowlands and Doug McIntosh 51.56, Ann Rinder and Neville Chapman 51.39 and Bron Sund and Michael Dooley with 51.04 per cent.

On Friday – happy birthday to the club – 40 people sat down to play bridge and share a delicious lunch in congenial company.

Nicholson led N/S with 57.87 per cent, Deb Anglim and John French 55.56, Anne Somerville and Kathy Dowd 55.09, Alan Johnston and Clive Hope 53.70, and Sean Munley and Bruce Higgs 51.62 per cent. 

Catherine Burton and Robyn Synan topped E/W with 58.8, Maree Sands and Maureen Stiles 57.18, Penny Lanser and Doug McIntosh 53.94, Julie Perriam and Bronwyn Sund 53.24, and Fred Meiseloach and Ann Marie Tytler 49.54 per cent.

The card tables were abandoned for a friendly nosh.
