‘Terrific result’: Korumburra records 98% immunisation consent rate

KORUMBURRA Secondary College has achieved a 98 per cent return rate for immunisation consent cards for 2021.

Each year, South Gippsland Shire Council awards a prize to the secondary school that connects the most students with the secondary school immunisation program.

Korumburra Secondary College was this year’s winner, with Foster Secondary College coming second after increasing their return rate from 79 per cent last year to 89 per cent this year.

Korumburra Secondary College was presented with certificates and a $750 BIG W gift voucher as part of their achievement.

“South Gippsland secondary schools achieved impressive immunisation consent card returns this year,” South Gippsland Shire Council’s acting coordinator of children and family services, Vicki Bradley, said.

“We are pleased to provide the secondary school immunisation program and help protect many local students from disease.

“We would like to thank all of the schools for their participation and the office staff and teachers who distributed the immunisation packs and provided information on the immunisation program.

“Without their support, it is unlikely that we would have had such a terrific result.”

The immunisations will occur early next year. For more information about the immunisation program, please phone 5662 9200.
