Reading Ali Wastie in the Herald Sun (‘One super move would narrow gender pay gap, May 12, 2022) I have several questions.
As CEO of Bass Coast Shire, are you a ratepayer of Bass Coast? Have you consulted with local ratepayers before implementing your parental leave with superannuation benefits? Is $60,000 the yearly superannuation component or the complete parental leave plus superannuation?
As a ratepayer, this is our money you are spending. Roads and rubbish are the main requirements of a council.
We live in a subdivision that has unsealed roads that are too narrow to pass the garbage truck, open drains that never get cleaned, yet you still allow occupied blocks to be subdivided which creates more traffic on already overcrowded roads.
Our rates have risen 50 per cent yet our services have diminished.
