ROAD resurfacing works kick off this month along Healesville-Koo Wee Rup Road.

Crews will resurface the south section between Ellett and Manks Roads to improve the current surface of the road.

It comes after crews resurfaced the north section of Healesville-Koo Wee Rup Road between Livestock Way and Ellett Road in March.

To carry out these works, maintain worker safety and minimise traffic delays, sections of Healesville-Koo Wee Rup Road will be closed during the night this week.

The road closure will be between Ballarto and Manks Roads on Thursday, May 5, and between Princes Freeway and Ballarto Road on Sunday, May 8 and Monday, May 9.

Works will be completed in sections to minimise disruptions and lower delay times for the local community.

Other upcoming works on Healesville-Koo Wee Rup include the continued installation of long-term construction barriers between Ellett and Manks Roads, from late April to mid-May.

At the northern section of the upgrade, works are starting early at the Hall Road intersection this month.

This will involve relocating the light poles, installing temporary traffic lights, and asphalting and line marking works at the intersection.

Works scheduled to take place during the closure of Healesville-Koo Wee Rup Road are designed to minimise prolonged traffic impacts for residents and the wider community.

Detours will be in place during these closures and access to local properties and businesses will be maintained at all times.

Major construction is expected to commence on Healesville-Koo Wee Rup Road by mid-year.

Crews have been on-site since mid-2021 locating utility services and site investigations to better understand ground conditions.

Motorists are encouraged to plan their journeys and can visit bigbuild.vic.gov.au for more details.

The Healesville-Koo Wee Rup Road Upgrade is expected to be completed by 2025.
