WONTHAGGI Clay Target Club’s first competition of 2023, New Year’s Day with a Bang 100 Target Double Barrel, was a massive success.
With 11 squads and a total of 62 shooters turning up, Wonthaggi turned up the heat with not a puff of wind and a scorching 35 degrees. Not only was the temperature hot but we managed to scorch 72 possibles on the board for the day.
Results:
Overall went to Kevin Gillespie after a shoot off with Ian Kent and Dennis Comelli. Kevin shot a Perfect 117/117 to take the win.
AA - 1st Hecta Crawford 99/100.
A - 1st Ian Kent 116/117.
B - 1st Dakota Suckling 99/100.
C - 1st Chris Bone 98/100.



D - 1st Grant Curtin 90/100.
Junior - 1st Ben De Pedro 97/100.
Ladies - 1st Mel Treller 95/100.
Veterans - 1st Ian Findlay 97/100.
Raffle Winners - 1st Warren Roberts, 2nd Billy Woodward, 3rd Cranky McCall and 4th Ian Kent.
We’d also like to thank Aussie Disposals Wonthaggi, Mandy and Brendan McRae and Sam White from Cut n Edge Lawn and Garden for their donations to our raffle. Over $600 was raised in the raffle and donated to Jack Gow to assist the young family in memory of the late Shylah Johnson.
